Recognising the need to be involved in the critical health care of companion animals both warm and cold blooded, the makers of Thermoblocker™ were established to research and develop equipment allowing benefits of heat retention by the animal itself during sickness, anaesthesia and in post surgical recovery. To achieve this, a specific programme was developed applying knowledge of materials halting or retarding heat transference. A material utilising bubble wrap with a thin surface of laminated polythene over a silver layer of polyester or aluminium foil was found to be the most effective. The product does not conduct active or static electricity and is waterproof and durable, this product is called the Thermoblocker™. Tests and trials were held at Veterinary Hospitals, Veterinary Universities, Veterinary Schools and some Veterinary Surgeries, all of these trials have supported the benefits of the Thermoblocker™ range. Keep Them Warm and Well with Reflect-A-Therm 1 The top reflective layer returns nearly 80% of the radiant heat from the animal. 2 Any heat that passes through this first layer is slowed by the insulating bubbles and kept in the material by the second reflective layer. Almost no heat passes all the way through the ThermoBlocker™. The Bags, Table Cover and Cat Box utilise the properties of the ThermoBlocker™. Excellent for patients recovering from anaesthesia, recumbent patients or emergencies. Indeed any situation where hypothermia may occur or where it is already compromising patient care.
